Design Objects Tasmania, now known as DOT, is a community of makers and artists in Lutruwita/Tasmania may. In 2026, DOT40 is a celebration of 40 years bringing Tasmanian designer makers together within the wider community. DOT40 is a curated exhibition which traces the lineage of the state’s unique design identity and looks toward its dynamic. Three curatorial strands are presented.

NOW: Showcasing the strength of current talent, this strand features current DOT members presenting contemporary practice, including Ruby Yeh, Liam Starcevich, Stu Williams, Kate Bowman, Lachy Taylor, Andrea Barker, Duncan Meerding, Chris Clinton, Scott van Tuil.

LEGACY: Grounding the exhibition in history, this strand honours 10 influential practitioners, revealing the rich lineage and foundational inspiration behind today’s work. Included are: Linda Fredheim, Kevin Perkins, Nick Randall, Neil Hoffman, Ross Straker.

HORIZON: Introduces Ollie Walker, an emerging designer representing the next generation of Tasmanian design.
