3x bendy ply, wood glue, 9mm plywood (1200, 2400mm), clear acrylic, 2x dowel, varnish, electrics and a light bulb

80 w x 280 d x 820mm h

Our task was to design a floor standing lamp that would fit the Earl Pinto range of décor, and use one sheet or less of 1200 x 2400mm plywood in either the design itself or its manufacturing phase. The lamp is made from three layers of bendy plywood which have been glued into shape using a former which was cut from the sheet of plywood. After the general form had finished drying I used a jigsaw to cut out the desired shape and sand it. As we were allowed to use a few other materials I included two dowels that have been cut and glued to give the appearance that they pierce the main body. The light bulb was fitted and the entire lamp was varnished.
