Danish furniture designer maker Rasmus Fenhann’s latest work is the culmination of two years work and a 30 year career.
The cabinet he fondly refers to as his ‘madness cabinet’ will soon be unveiled to the world as the Cosmos Cabinet at his latest solo exhibition OFFCUT / RECUT. The exhibition runs from 3–27 September 2026 at Officinet, Bredgade 66, 1260 Copenhagen, Denmark.
The September issue of Australian Wood Review profiles Rasmus Fenhann in an interview which discusses his influences and lastest work. The body of work presented has been created from rare hardwood offcuts. Small pieces of ebony, rosewood and other precious timbers – once considered leftovers – become the starting point for a new exploration of craftsmanship, materials and contemporary design.

The title OFFCUT / RECUT reflects the exhibition’s dual focus. OFFCUT refers to the discarded fragments that form the basis of the works, while RECUT points both to the physical transformation of the material and to Fenhann’s reinterpretation of historical European and Japanese woodworking techniques that have influenced his practice for decades.
If you are unable to visit in person you can read about Rasmus Fenhann's work in Wood Review magazine, issue 132, available in print from Australian newsagents and selected retailers. The digital edition of the magazine is available via greatmagazines.com.au/magazine
In 2026, Rasmus Fenhann is a judge for Wood Review’s annual showcase for fine woodworking, Maker of the Year, presented by Hare & Forbes. Learn more about Rasmus Fenhann at www.fenhann.com
