‘The better the tools the better the bushie’, says Bill Boyd as he uses spit and a stone to bring his axe to a razor sharp edge.
For those interested in bushcraft this film is highly recommended and covers the restoration of the drop slab alpine ash Coolamine Homestead built in 1883 in the Kosciuszko National Park.
From finding and then felling a tree, axemen Bill Boyd and Mark Garner go on to demonstrate how they saw, section and split the wood for their restoration work on the hut.
