VIDEO: Outdoor ‘mitre joint chair’
Here's a fast-paced video from Visa Meisalmi @wuoma.nordic in Finland that tracks the start-to-finish process of building an outdoor chair. Visa uses oak which has been traditionally used for outdoor structures and furniture in Finland. He has aimed for a distinctive design that offers substantial volume that is visually lightened by the backrest's 'floating' effect. Using mitre joints in an outdoor piece is also part of the maker's experimentation.
The chair is entered in Maker of the Year, presented by Carbatec. See Visa Meisalmi's images and description here.
