VIDEO: Making the Ash Tea Cabinet

Where, how and from whom are some of the questions that those new to woodworking can ask. US maker Ari Itkin explains how it’s a combination of research, experience and guidance from mentors, as opposed to teachers, who have helped his journey into acquiring skills.

In this video Ari reflects on the above and then explains how, in terms of self instruction, ‘I’m going to take myself to school by designing and building a tea cabinet’. He dedicates the cabinet to his mentors and takes us through the process.
