Part 1 of The Passionate Apprentices introduces us to John the Knifemaker who says that anything handmade is alive because it absorbs the maker’s energy.
John forges his own blades and likes to pass on the knowledge it’s taken him decades to acquire. In the video we meet two of John’s apprentices and watch John at the forge heating and shaping metal. ‘If I get run over by a log truck tomorrow there’s a little bit of knowledge these people have got’, says John.
