Gabriel Dickinson, The Tambour Cabniet (STUDENT 2021)

This Tambour Cabinet, inspired by old fashion tambour desks, combine’s efficiency, and modernism. This cabinet involves complex joinery and wood process to capture the complexity of the original, tambour desk designs. The Tambour door uses a fabric hinge to slide open and around its designated track, exposing an adjustable shelf, two soft close drawers and an open space for additional storage. This cabinet also includes a coopered door on its end, opening up to reveal two floating, curved shelves. Hidden away behind the tambour, is also a handmade revolving tie rack making the storage of ties simple and efficient.
