Craig Wies, "The Kegerator Cabinet" (WORLD 2021)

When approached to make a custom one-of-a-kind cabinet with a river table top out of solid walnut, and able to store a refrigerator and pour beer out of two taps off the top the design process began. A stout cabinet with 7/8" thick panels to hold the weight, clean lines to compliment the river top, traditional and modern joinery, a mid-century modern inspired base, a wrought iron sliding barn door to easily access the kegerator, removable live edge shelves with charred edges, solid walnut handles, custom made tap handles, and even an ultra suede lined drawer to store drinking accessories. The epoxy river top is flat black and holds an island of sorts in the center using an edge cut from the same tree off the mill, and there are also other epoxy filled accents which can be seen in the cabinet drawer & door. Today this cabinet proudly pours beer from two different kegs which are hidden inside, and easily accessible when requiring change out.
