Brak Dixon, Round Coffee Table (Student Awards 2019)

The stunning round coffee table is created with salvaged messmate timber from old farm house that had been destroyed. The native timber brings a significant amount of character into the piece from the figure of the grain through to it past life with visible nail holes. The angled legs and joints were all cut by hand with no assistance from power tools, these joints include mortise and tenon, half lap and finger joints. The 1100mm round table was constructed from the 21/5/2019 - 18/9/2019 and since then has been displayed in a local arts and technology expo where it won the top award for the overall product.
