Lachie Cooper, Recycled Hardwood Coffee Table (Student)

I was tasked with this build for my year 12 major for Design and Technology. I crafted a coffee table with a marble inlay that was repurposed from a family member. The table was initially planned to have a 45° drop down drawer and accompanying stools, also made from recycled hardwoods, however the impacts of lockdown restricted construction rime and they will now be completed in my own time. The coffee table will serve as a surface for family game play of board games and chess. I crafted the angled legs design as an aesthetic aspect and also to aid in the dispersal of the weight from the dense blue gum table top and weighty marble inlay. The whole project was finished with natural Tung oil to emphasise the grain and characteristics of the timber.
