Occasional chair made from oak. Inspired by classic Danish chair designs from Hans Wenger as well as Japanese/Danish duo Inoda & Sveje. The wrap-around backrest was created using a brickwork technique to give the curve strength and make an interesting feature of the oak grain. The angular legs are gently tapered and help to keep the overall shape of the chair dynamic. The backrest is joined to the front legs with bridle joins and the back legs with mortise & tenons. The coopered and shaped seat was made with optimum comfort in mind. It sits at a three degree angle with lower back support from the backrest. The front and back rails are shaped to lift the seat and joined to the side rails using twin through-tenons which create a nice detail. Dimensions: 480mm x 530mm x 720mm
