Harry Connell, Modern Day Coffee Table (Student Awards 2019)

A modern day coffee table, created to be placed in the centre of a lounge room revealing all components of the project. Dimensions of 1000 x 700mm with a height of 440mm. This coffee table consists of Tasmania oak and jarrah forming a contrast with the timbers. Four drawers with a curved face that pivot off each corner spinning around to open. A hidden drawer placed underneath the parquetry tabletop unseen until up close. This project reflects on my years of industrial tech timber whilst at school, and the skills I have gained to create something unique and different from other furniture. Year 12, Dubbo College Senior Campus. Teacher: Micheal Boyon
