Jacob Tarabey, Entertainment Table (Student Awards 2018)

The custom entertainment table was produced using the classic combination of Tasmanian oak contrasted against jarrah. The drawer fronts were produced from two varied coloured lengths to create a horizontal symmetry that is complemented by the extended chrome handle that helps to increase the visual width of the project. The tapered legs were produced using a combination of drop saw and custom router jig. The legs were then secured to additional supports to create a floating effect when viewed from the standing position. The mitre joints were produced on the table saw using a digital angle meter to ensure perfection of joints. Year 12, Clancy Catholic College, West Hoxton, NSW. Teacher: Mr Michael Magnussen
