Charles Crowley, Bedside Table (Student Awards 2018)

This project is made from Pacific maple, Queensland walnut and silky oak veneered plywood. The top and drawer fronts are mainly Queensland walnut with Pacific maple around the edges. This makes them matching with the Pacific maple tying them into the rest of the project. The use of hand turned, double offset cabriole legs as well as round overs, chamfers and small beading helps to make this product for with other furniture in my house. The cabriole legs also feature square cut shoulders which is stylistically correct. The design of this project had to fit within the dimensions of 600 high, 600 wide and 450 deep. The final product ended up being 600 high, 540 wide and 420 deep. Date of Completion: 20/11/2018. Year 11, Central Coast Grammar School. Teachers: Paul Buxton, Bil Kensey Photographer: Sebastien Hibbard and myself.
