World's Largest Wood Clock?

Kevin Bird tower clock

Kevin Bird's all wood clock has been a ten year labour of love. Housed in a shed in Nannup, Western Australia, it's made mainly of jarrah and tops six metres in height. As a former aircraft engineer Kevin had a good deal of technical know-how as the basis for his endeavour.

The clock requires twice daily windings and has a weekly variation of one minute which Kevin will eventually reduce.

More information on Kevin Bird's remarkable achievement in Sharon Kennedy's ABC report.
