Vale Glen Britton, Britton Timbers
Tasmanians and the timber industry lost one of its most notable figures last Thursday with the sudden passing of Glen Britton. For over half a century, Mr Britton was a director and then chairman of the Smithton based family company, Britton Timbers.
Mr Britton stood at the helm of a company known for its innovation and adaptability, all based on its dedication to quality and service. With branches in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Brittons Timbers supplies native sawn timbers and veneers and is one of Australia’s largest importers and distributors of decorative hardwoods.
Mr Britton was known to be a passionate advocate for the industry and sustainable practices.
Australian Wood Review offers its sincere condolences to Mr Britton’s family, friends and staff.
