The 2017 Australian Woodturning Exhibition will be officially opened by the Mayor of Kingston at 10am on Friday June 16.

On show will be over 400 pieces of art produced by woodturners from all over Australia and from New Zealand. The work ranges from items with a natural edge, hollow forms, wood art, identical pairs and much more. Many items are made from native species mostly from sustainable sources.

In addition, the event will host a mini trade exhibition and live woodturning demonstrations. The International Wood Collectors Society  will also mount a display of woods from around the world and offer the opportunity to explore wood grain by looking at slides through a microscope.
