Sturt School Weekend at Mittagong

In a little over two weeks time there are even more reasons than usual to head for the picturesque Southern Highlands region of New South Wales.

On February 17 and 18 Sturt School For Wood in Mittagong celebrates with its annual Tools & Techniques weekend. From 10am to 4pm on both days visitors can tour the historic school campus and enjoy  displays, sales and demonstrations by some of Australia’s best known tool and furniture makers.

These include: Allwood Specialty Timbers, Colen Clenton, Dunstone Design, Gifkins Dovetail, HNT Gordon, Japanese Tools, J.D. Woodworm, Keith Houston, Lie-Nielsen Toolworks, Men’s Shed, Southern Highlands Wood Turners and Vesper Tools.

On the Sunday at 11am an exhibition of new work by members and affiliates of Studio Woodworkers Australia titled Chatoyance will open in the Sturt Gallery. Admission is free and and food and drink are also available.
