As with any great musical performance or piece of visual art, the result can and probably should appear effortless. But what you are not seeing are the decades and long hours dedicated to achieving that mastery.

For Zina Burloiu and Terry Martin, the forty five pieces that will soon form an exhibition titled Shadow and Light at Bungendore Wood Works Gallery represent the fruits of twenty years of artistic collaboration.

‘We are always acutely aware of each other's work processes and are able to progress almost instinctively. We talk, sketch, and immediately agree on everything. It is a priceless balance and it has taken us both to levels that we have not achieved before,’ commented Terry Martin.

Terry Martin is a Brisbane-based wood artist, author and curator who is also a regular contributor to Australian Wood Review magazine. Zina Burloiu lives in Romania and has exhibited widely throughout the world and also written for AWR.

Shadow and Light runs from Saturday the 8th of September till October 16th, 2018.
