Tickets are now on sale for this year's Maleny Wood Expo 2024, as are bookings for their ever-popular workshops. The latter are selling out however, so don't say you haven't been warned!

Workshops for the kids include making a 'cool stool', yoyos, bush critters, a model dinghy and a tool caddy. The Blackall Range Woodcrafters are also offering a general children's woodworking experience. There are very modest fees to attend.

The bigger kids also have a range of workshops to choose from. You could have worked on a hand held piece with wood sculptor Donald Powell however you can still carve a spoon with Lexie Farrell, whittle an animal with Carol Russell, learn about coopering with David Harriman, experience green wood spooncarving with Danny Holmes, make a bamboo flute with Noel Dowling or a milking stool with Richard Knight.

The Maleny Wood Expo is a truly all-encompassing event which tells the story of wood from tree planting to sustainable forest management, through to the harvesting, milling and working wood with hand, power and machine tools.

There are numerous artisan displays and demonstrations, all made possible with the support of enthusiastic volunteers and local clubs. Local gourmet food is available, as is live entertainment from talented local musicians.

Visitors will also enjoy viewing and appreciating this year's Wootha Prize exhibition.
