From December 16, the Centre for Fine Woodworking in Nelson, New Zealand will present its annual showcase of student work in an exhibition titled Emerge.

In contrast to past years, the school will show student work from both full time and part time woodworking courses, and also celebrate the wider promotion of its recently established Thorkild Hansen Scholarship Program.

The scholarship was created in memorium of Thorkild Hansen’s contribution as a teacher and mentor at the CFW. The inaugural scholarship will offer a fully paid place on the school’s eight week beginners intensive for the next five years.

Due to covid restrictions there will not be an official opening, however a virtual tour of the exhibition will be posted on the CFW website before the end of the year. The exhibition will be held at Refinery Artspace, 114 Hardy Street, Nelson from December 16 to January 22, 2022.
