Maker of the Year Awards 2023, presented by Carbitool, are now open for entry!

The Maker of the Year Awards 2023, presented by Carbitool, are now open for entries with a new major sponsor, a new themed category and more than $18,000 in prizes, including $9750 in cash, on offer. A total of 15 awards will be made, along with certificates of recognition for participation and achievement.

The December 2023 issue of Australian Wood Review will feature the Top 100 entries!

All entries to Maker of the Year, presented by Carbitool appear on our website and many are featured on our Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the year. The Awards are open to amateur, professional and student woodworkers in Australia and throughout the world.

How do I enter?

Entry is via the category buttons on this page. Click on a category to complete your details and upload 5 images. That’s it! Entry fees are payable via PayPal, which also permits credit card payment. Early bird entry ends April 2.

Categories include: Tables, Chairs & Desks; Chests, Cabinets & Boxes; Art & Objects; Student; Recycled & Rescued; and World. Australian entrants may enter all six categories, with Recycled & Rescued and World categories also open to international makers.

Recycled & Rescued is a new category open to those who create from wood salvaged or upcycled from buildings and other structures, or from the forest floor. Furniture, boxes, turnings and sculptures are all eligible, in any style. More information is here.

Maker of the Year is a Wood Review magazine competition made possible by top tier suppliers to the woodworking industry who are passionate about the tools, timber, finishes and machinery they manufacture and offer. Our sponsors seek to support exponents and lovers of fine woodworking.
