Krenov Foundation Award: Applications Now Open

April 30 is the deadline for applications for The Krenov Foundation Professional Development Award (PDA). An amount of $2,500 is offered to emerging fine woodworking professionals to assist them in becoming an artist-in-residence or visiting scholar at a nationally recognised woodworking school or craft centre.

Bruno Chevrette from Quebec, Canada was selected as the recipient of the Krenov Foundation’s PDA for 2017–18. Following training in France, Bruno moved to Canada where he has been dividing his time between furniture making and timber frame house construction. He will use his award to travel to the Brooklyn, New York where he will study at the Mokuchi Workshop under the guidance of Japanese woodworking master Yann Giguere.

Prior to that Kelly Parker, USA, another PDA recipient was able to work on advanced wood bending techniques as an artist-in-residence at the Centre for Fine Woodworking in Nelson, New Zealand.
