In January 2018 two exciting workshop intensives will take place at the Melbourne Guild of Fine Woodworking in Blackburn, Victoria.

Don't leave it too late to sign up for classes with shoji mastercraftsman Des King for a special focus 5-day workshop on making kumiko from January 15–19. Des will be ably assisted by another expert woodworker, Shinobu Kobayashi who readers of Wood Review magazine may remember featured on the cover of and within issue 95. This is a great opportunity to learn from two master craftsmen.

At the same time, another 5-day intensive workshop, this time in Windsor chairmaking will also take place under the guidance of Tasmanian expert fine furniture maker Jon Grant. Specifically, students will learn how to make a Windsor balloon back chair like the one shown above.
