Naturally is ‘a wonderfully diverse exhibition of a multidisciplinary kind’ that runs from August 6–20 at the Mary Cairncross Reserve, 148 Mountain View Rd, Maleny, Qld.

Sharing their fascination with and reverence for nature, an Indigenous artist, a wood sculptor, a rainforest and environmental artist will bring their combined works together. From carving to ink, cyanotype to clay, this rich exhibition reflects the local landscape and deep sense of place.

Cholena (Koa) Drew Hughes was born on Turrbal country and now lives on Jinibara country. She shares her love of Country through her many art practices to provide a meaningful experience for the viewer.

Mobius forms by Gary Field

Multi award winning woodcarver Gary Field has spent 50 years developing his unique style of woodcarving. Guided by a respect for and love of nature he mindfully reveals the unseen forms within the ethically sourced timber he choose to work with.

Inspired by the rainforest, Leisa Gunton uses clay and ‘geology’ to capture the essence of place, while drawing and painting are an opportunity to view the rainforest from her eyes.
