In the June issue of Australian Wood Review, furniture maker, restorer and polisher Frank van Brunschot writes about the materials and processes involved in French polishing.

This video shows how to fold the French polisher's rubber from cotton wadding and linen or heavy duty cotton. Frank then demonstrates the basic techniques and stroke patterns for grain filling and applying shellac. After that, all you need is patience, practice and persistence to develop your skills!
