Hands-on workshops are becoming a feature of more and more woodworking events and this year's Illawarra Festival of Wood has no less than 17 on offer. Spoons, stools, spears, birds and boomerangs are only just some of the things you can learn to make.

In 2019 the IFOW is also featuring 70 stall holders and artisans, along with an exhibition of work entitled ‘Coastal Woodwork’ by the newly formed South Coast Woodworkers Association which already boasts over 30 members. The exhibition will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Wollongong on Friday October 11 at 6.30pm.

The festival takes place on the weekend of October 12 and 13 at Bulli Showground, NSW.
