Align & Cut is the title of an exhibition of work opening soon at Hive Gallery, 1/41 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove, Victoria. The exhibition runs from June 2–25, with the opening on June 3.

While Benjamin Reddan and Amabile Dalfarra-Smith specialise in differing media they both share a passion for intricately crafted work that relies on fine detail and takes inspiration from the earthy tones of nature.

Benjamin Reddan is a furniture designer maker who works from his Yarra Valley studio. He creates both unique bespoke and batch run pieces that are sold across Melbourne and interstate. Benjamin completed studies in Furniture Design at RMIT in 2009, and followed up with an intensive cabinet making apprenticeship from 2010–2014. Since then he has run his own business, trading under the name ‘Soul of Bespoke’. He prides himself on his attention to detail, which has stemmed from his philosophy that well made woodwork is an art form with a soul, and every aspect of a piece, whether it’s a corner block, a hinge, or inlay, must be treated with respect.

Benjamin Reddan will show a selection of keepsake boxes, Japanese memory boxes and pendants, all of which will be available for purchase.
