Plywood, veneered MDF jarrah, Tasmanian oak, jarrah
Bed: 2600mm (L) x 1180mm (W) x 1260mm (height to top headboard) x 430mm (height to base)

Bedside table: 550mm (H) x 500mm (W) x 420mm (D)

I stumbled across a photo online of a similar bed design and then from there developed my own design by adding drawers, a larger headboard, ‘invisible’ base supports and a different bedside table.

This bed was constructed by laminating thin ply and MDF around a rib like structure. By using ratchet straps I was able to form the headboard whilst also applying pressure along the whole length of the curve all at once. Altogether the curve is 30mm thick. There are two curved bottomed drawers within the centre of the bed that have a push-to-open drawer runner in them. The bed is held in a fixed position by three wooden chocks.
