The current issue #106 of Wood Review magazine features a project on the making of a beautiful cabinet  by UK maker Harry T Morris. In the story Harry describes how after learning about traditional hand skills at West Dean College he decided to deepen his knowledge by travelling to Japan, once again to undertake studies in woodworking techniques. The last leg of his journey was to Sydney, where he took up an artist residency at the The Bower Woodworks. While in Sydney he made and documented the process of making his Fuzei cabinet.

This video is the first of four and looks at the first stages of building the cabinet. The current issue describes the whole build and includes a diagram and cutting list, in addition to a wealth of information.

The next issue of Australian Wood Review comes out at the end of May. Subscribe to print and or digital editions at www.greatmagazines.com.au
