Unless you absolutely, definitely and positively cannot work with imperial measurements, it’s hard to fault this book of projects from editors of Fine Woodworking magazine.

On the cover is Garrett Hack, who authored a story on making a beautiful demilune table in AWR#80. Garrett has visited Australia and conducted masterclasses for those who were lucky enough to be able to attend. He shows how to make a ‘huntboard’ in this book. This is an elegant two-door, three sideboard.

If you’re looking for way out contemporary designs this is not the book for you. The style of the 18 chests, sideboards, consoles, wall cabinets and bookcases featured is generally traditional but always tasteful. Photos are exellent, diagrams are excellent and the explanations are clear. Tips and techniques are peppered throughout, ensuring you’ll learn plenty while making some classic designs.

This is a good book for those with intermediate skills looking to break through to the next level.
