Chatoyance Exhibition Opens February 18, 2018

From the French, chatoyer, ‘to shimmer’, chatoyance is that glowing lustre which can be revealed when wood is viewed from differing angles. It’s the theme upon which Studio Woodworkers Australia (SWA) have based their latest group exhibition.

Founded in 2011, SWA is Australia’s peak accreditation association for professional woodworkers and wood artists and also has a culture of mentoring which is also reflected in the inclusion of work by emerging makers partnered with accredited members that will also be presented.

The exhibition will feature at Sturt Gallery in Mittagong, NSW from from February 8 to April 8, 2018. Sturt Gallery is situated Cnr Range Rd and Waverley Pde, Mittagong, NSW.

The exhibition will officially open on 11am, February 18 in conjunction with Sturt School For Wood’s annual Tools & Techniques Weekend which runs on the weekend of February 17–18.
