Attendance is expected to reach up to 5,000 at this year's Ballarat Wood Show. The show is organised annually by the Ballarat Woodcraft Guild, an association of some 110 members which exists to foster a love of wood and woodworking amongst its members and local communities.

Over 50 expert woodworkers will demonstrate techniques of turning, scrollsawing, carving and whittling, furniture making, toy making, musical instrument making, pyrography, veneering, box making and finishing. Star attractions include displays of work and demonstrations by Brendan Stemp and Newton Williams.

The show takes place on the weekend of September 23 and 24 at Wendouree Sports and Events Centre, off the south-east corner of Norman and Dowling Streets, Wendouree, Ballarat. Entry is $10/$8 and free for those under 16.
