February 17–18, Sturt School For Wood, Mittagong, NSW

Sturt School For Wood’s annual Tools & Techniques weekend has become an annual festival of wood on the Southern Highlands, NSW calendar. This year the number of hand tool, machinery and allied product retailers had swelled to take up the Wale Studio, outside areas and a large new workroom area situated nearby.

Visitors could treat themselves to some quality time with quality tools from Australia’s leading brands including Japanese Tools Australia, Gifkins Dovetail, Chris Vesper, HNT Gordon, Colen Clenton, Lie Nielsen Australia, Dunstone Design, Tetsuro Izumitani. Fine timbers from Allwood Timbers and Livos finishes were also represented. Demonstrations on both stands and outside were well attended.

Felder Australia mounted an impressive display of machinery and the team was on hand to answer all questions regarding supply, set up and maintenance of both Felder and Hammer ranges.

On top of all this, visitors were treated to an exhibition of fine woodwork by members of Studio Woodworkers Australia. The opening of Chatoyance took place on the Sunday morning February 18 at 11am.
