Making an extendable mini-workbench

Comments Comments

Here’s a fast paced video which compacts a lot of information into just 14 minutes.

Neil Paskin’s mini bench is designed for flexibility. He can take it outside, onsite or on holidays. It’s made from everyday and scrap materials combined with loads of ingenuity.

Watch as Neil machines wood and glues up the top before making vice jaws that incorporates the maker’s own-designed quick release vice mechanism. Extra refinements include guide rails that allow for the insertion of an additional panel to extend the length of the bench, and some shop made bench dogs. This is a small and versatile bench with a good deal clamping power.

If you need a small portable workbench that can be stored or transported this could be a useful and fun build for you.
