Lately Queensland has been an absolute hotspot for events that woodworkers can enjoy.

First the Maleny Expo, then the Brisbane Timber Show, and now Gympie, a few hours drive further north comes onto the stage.

Hosted by Gympie and District Woodworkers Club (GDWC) and the Australian Institute of Country Music (AICM) the wood N music Festival will be held in the AICM Building, Channon Street in Gympie from May 29–31.

An interesting mix of workshops, displays, entertainment, demonstrations and competitions that relate to both music, musical instrument making and woodworking will run over the three days.

Presenters include Stan Ceglinski from Northern NSW and Luke Kallquist from Brisbane.  Stan is noted for for his diddly bow workshops and entertainment prowess, while Luke Kallquist will be showcasing his finesse as a professional luthier. GDWC will run regular workshops concentrating on production of music boxes.

Bush craftsman, diddley bow maker, raconteur and musician Stan Ceglinski will headline at the festival.

A Saturday night concert will feature many local and interstate artists while an informal concert and jam session will wind up the proceedings on Sunday afternoon.

This is a first event of its type for Gympie, one that features the expansive timber and musical heritage of the region.
