The dates are now set for Australia's premier must-visit event for lovers of lathe-turned wood art. This year's Australian Woodturning Exhibition will take place from June 5–7 at the Waratah Rooms, Whitehorse Centre, 397 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading, Vic.
The exhibition is the end-product of a nationwide competition for woodturners that regularly attracts a large number of entries over a range of categories, such as Bowl, Platter, Natural Edged, Hollow Vessel, Vase, Miniature, Identical Pair and Wood Art. This year a new category – Ornamental Turning – has been added. There are also levels for entrants (Open, Intermediate and Novice) which ensure a level playing field for all.
Entries are due May 15, so it's time to start planning for a masterpiece or two! See www.theaustralianwoodturningexhibition.net for more information and to download entry forms. You can also email Ray Dennis or Rachelle Leaver to find out more.
