Award winners will be announced in our March issue, out Feb 23. This year our judges are Linda Fredheim, Tas and Darren Oates, NSW. Both are acclaimed designer makers and woodworking educators who have exhibited widely and taught at tertiary level. The awards they will determine include Overall Best, Best Design, Best Hand Skills and Best Use of Native Timbers.

The fifth award will be chosen by you! Head to our Facebook page album to ‘like’ your favourite entries. You can comment on and like as many entries as you wish. The entry with the most likes at midday January 30, 2018 wins Popular Choice award.

Wood Review's Student Awards remains the only national online showcase of its kind. Our industry sponsors are fully behind this initiative to promote, encourage and enjoy the skills in design and technology attained by younger woodworkers. We also celebrate the achievements and dedication of their teachers, parents and communities who enable their learning to take place.

Our sincere thanks goes to 3M Australia, Triton Tools, Carbatec, Hare & Forbes Machinery House and Arbortech for supporting this endeavour.

Winners will receive a share of over $5,500 worth of great tools and machinery sponsored by Carbatec, Hare & Forbes, Triton, Arbortech and 3M Australia. See details of prizes here

Popular Choice Award will be announced via Wood Review eNewsletter on February 2, 2018. If you wish you can sign up to receive our fortnightly eNews on our home page.
