2018 marks an even more special New Year for the Perth Wood School as it is now situated in a new location.

The school is not far from where it was previously located but there are some great benefits. These include air-conditioning and, in the words of director and main tutor David Howlett, ‘We think it has a nicer workshop feel’.

A full program of upcoming workshops and events is planned and may be viewed in detail on the PWS website.

Special focus workshops include introduction to woodwork, basic router skills, handsaws and chisels, handplane how-to, tool sharpening, bandsaw how-to – and that’s only within the first months of the year!

PWS regulars will miss tutor Tracey Laird who has a new teaching gig, however Cat Cook has now joined the team to assist in the running of the school. Cat has an all-round skillset with a BA in Creative Industries and an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Design.

The new Perth Wood School address is Unit 1/119 Welshpool Rd, Welshpool (next to Minuteman Press). See www.perthwoodschool.com.au for more class information.
