The theme for next year’s Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize has just been announced and although being the hallmark of fine joinery, entrants are also invited to explore the idea of ‘DoveTails’ in different ways.

Accordingly there are three categories: Furniture, Sculpture, Tiny Treasure. The theme DoveTails is a word play that is open to  both literal and creative interpretation. For example: there can be an infinite number of joinery variations – or through other techniques you can tell stories which highlight starting and ending points, or the dove as a symbol of peace…in other words let your imagination run wild!

You can enter one or more than one category however each will require a separate entry and entry fee. The Wootha Prize is the centrepiece of the annual Maleny Wood Expo and once again carries a huge $10,000 first prize with other awards on offer.

Guidelines and entry forms will be available from www.malenywoodexpo.com from September 2019.
