The Australian Woodturning Exhibition is one of the premier woodturning events of the year. Held annually it is run by a group of volunteer members from the Whitehorse Wood Turners in Victoria and attracts over 350 exhibits from all over Australia.

Woodturners are invited to enter their work in this exciting showcase of lathe art. The closing date for entries is May 24. There are levels for students, novices, intermediate and professional turners to compete in.

Categories include:

• bowls

• vases

• platters

• lidded containers

• miniature

• items with naturally occurring edges

• spindle turned items

• laminated built up

Total prizes in excess of $10,000 make this one of the richest competitions for woodworkers in Australia.

In 2014 the exhibition runs from June 13 to 15 and is on display at the Waratah Room, Whitehorse Centre, 397 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading, Melbourne.
