This year West Australian large scale machinery, hand and power tool dealer Beyond Tools is celebrating their 30th in a big way with the forthcoming launch of their Dream Big Expo.

It’s over 30 years now since Tony Mirabile moved from running a successful cabinetmaking business into supplying machinery, power tools and associated equipment and products for both trade and hobbyist needs.

Machinery, tools and service are the three pillars of the business that guided its foundation and continued existence. Founded as a family business it has grown and continues to be managed that way.

As the business grew it also came to service the building industry and a name change to Beyond Tools reflected that. Power tool brands such as Makita, DeWalt, Metabo, Hitachi, Bosch, Milwaukee, Festool and Virutex suit trade users as do machinery brands of Casolin, Casadei, Robland and Cehisa, Rikon and more.

2016 marks the launch of the Dream Big Expo, a Beyond Tools event that will take place from October 15–16 at Claremont Showgrounds in Perth.

Once again it’s Tony Mirabile’s experience that sowed the seeds for the concept of this event. ‘Years ago as a professional cabinetmaker the last thing I wanted to do on the weekends was make more cabinets so I went into racing cars’, he said.

Dream Big Expo is all about expanding the creative possibilities for people who have aspirations in their non-working lives. ‘It’s always been Tony’s dream to give people the opportunity to do things with their hands as a creative outlet’, explained Beyond Tools Digital and Creative Director Janelle Mikulic.

The Expo will feature displays and presentations that focus on watersports, racing, vehicles, restorations, customs and action sports through to tools, hobbies, collectibles and more. Mens shed associations and other clubs will also participate.
