As of last week, Carbitool’s extensive range of tooling is now available at the touch of a keypad with the launch of a new website with shopping cart.

If you’ve used woodworking tools within the last few decades there’s not much chance you don’t know the Carbitool brand. Australian born and made, this is the company which produces all manner of router and drill bits, not to mention a range of other tooling for machinery and power tools.

Founded in 1974 in Moorabbin, Victoria, Carbitool is an Australian manufacturer that works to exacting tolerances using carbide sourced from the best manufacturers in the world.

Carbitool was acquired in 2018 by Sutton Tools which will continue to manufacture Carbitool’s wide range of solid carbide tools within their own portfolio of cutting tools. Founded in 1917, Sutton Tools is an Australian company with an even longer heritage and will now extend the availability of Carbitool products within their own distributorships.

Below is a short interview with David Wood from Carbitool, recorded at the Sydney Timber, Tools & Artisan Show.
