On November 14–15, the Bayside Woodturner’s & Woodcrafters Club of Manly, Brisbane held their second Bayside Art in Wood at the Yurara Art Society at Thornlands.

The weather dampened things on the Saturday but it wasn’t enough to keep the dedicated away. Members displayed a maximum of three items per person and items were of the highest quality. Approximately 110 items were on display which included woodturning, carving, kinetic sculpture, pyrography, models, scroll saw work, clocks, boxes and musical instruments.

Some of the gallery items were offered for sale. There was also a large area dedicated to the sale of member’s items. All weekend demonstrations of woodturning, pyrography, carving and scroll saw took place outside the gallery. Members were encouraged by comments from visitors and reinforced by sales.

For the club the weekend was a great success and we look forward to a bigger and better event for 2016.
