Frank Wiesner served his furniture making apprenticeship well over 60 years ago in Germany. In Australia he is widely known for his legendary skill in all facets of woodworking, but he is also known the world over for the bookbinding presses he makes.

Frank says that initially he was a tradesperson who became a craftsman, and later on he diversified into making bookbinding presses. He has done custom work all his life but has also made one-off pieces which have sold through galleries such as Bungendore Wood Works in NSW. Frank appeared on the cover of Australian Wood Review on issues 9 and 43, and written several stories for the magazine.

This video gives a little insight into Frank's personality and his warm and generous spirit.
