Puzzled Table
Recycled jarrah and toughened glass
900 x 900 x 452mm
The Puzzled
Table is a functional, contemporary brainteaser.
Strong leg structure is created from a
complex combination of half lap joinery,
which supports the solid glass top. Packaged
as a flat pack item, the user must complete
the puzzle themselves creating an intimate
relationship between object and user.
The table also presents an opportunity
for the user to feel that they have ‘built’
something, resulting in great satisfaction.
The Puzzled Table is created with recycled
jarrah floorboards from the 1960s—using
this timber minimises environmental impact.
It also reduces its footprint by requiring
no glues, nails or screws and is coated
in Danish oil. Its flat pack ability and
slight scale make this product ideal for
most living environments from large homes
to the smallest apartment.
The idea behind the concept was to create
a piece of furniture that would be friendly
to the environment with a contemporary
style. The nature of the table being a
puzzle there is only one way to construct
the table and when the user completes
the puzzle
it gives great satisfaction and proud
ownership, in turn the table will stay
with the owner and with hope it will be
handed down thought generations.
