Surprise jewellery log
made from a firewood log
from the wood box

‘The small log is from a Canadian pine felled in our backyard and cut up for firewood. It was a second from being remade into smoke and pollution as I was about to throw it into the wood fire in our kitchen, when I hesitated and decided to keep it as I thought it might be possible to fashion it into something special.
‘The mind boggles at the stories one could write of people who hid their jewellery in the log and hid it in their wood box or woodheap!’

‘We needed a hall stand in our retirement home so I ambitiously set out to design one that would grace our cottage. Redgum furniture is usually thick and chunky in style. I decided to take up the challenge to design an elegant style that might look slender and graceful, and be ageless in style!’
