Barrel Bar

‘Living in the Southern Vales wine area of Adelaide gives me the opportunity to buy used oak wine barrels at a good price. I converted a barrel into wine bottle storage with toughened glass in the top for decanters and glasses, adding chrome pillars and rails, doors on the bottom section and lighting for the inside as well as an illuminated base for spirits bottles and accessories. The finished work fits the theme well I think, making a beautiful piece of furniture from what normally would be cut in half and used as a planter box waiting to end up as white ant food.’
