James Beale
Qld

‘For a long time I wondered what might be made from all the half round flitches that get thrown out or into fire heaps, so I built my own slab leveller so I can take the round off and be left with a useable piece. Then I do the scientific part; I sit down with a scotch and look at it until it tells me what it wants to be. I reckon it fits the theme: salvaged from the scrap heap and it holds photographs, which reflect the past. Even if I don’t do any good with the comp I hope you show people what they can do with those half rounds.’
